Children's Art Studio
The art studio is a haven for children to celebrate their art making. They will be exposed to art works by artists of past and present times. The use of a variety of art materials, new and traditional, will spark their imaginations. In each art session, children will create 2-dimensional art such as painting, drawing, printmaking or weaving. In addition, 3-dimensional art works may include ceramic clay sculpture or pottery, paper sculpture, wire sculpture and paper mache. Children will learn through their
experiences the basics of art appreciation and art vocabulary.
Art classes for Children Kindergarten through 8th grade
Susan Donald has been associated with art education for over 30 years. She has taught in public schools, conducted children’s classes and demonstrations at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She has been a guest artist for several community programs throughout the Richmond area. In 2004, The Children’s Art Studio was established because children have an immediate need and passion to experiment, to create and enjoy. “MORE ART” is the motto I have heard from children for many years. The studio is a friendly creative space designed to stimulate new ideas, strengthen skills and inspire your child’s exploration of art.
